Police have arrested two more people in connection with the murder of Mr Edwin Chiloba a LGBTQ activist and model.
Nairobi News has established the two, arrested on the night of Saturday, January 7, 2023 were minors.
Detectives attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have also managed to get a motor vehicle that was used in ferrying the body of the deceased from Chebisas, Uasin Gishu County where he was murdered to the scene where the metallic box was found.
“The car which was used in ferrying of the body has been detained as investigations into the murder go on,” Police Spokesperson Resla Onyango told the media.
The arrests comes a day after Mr Jackton Odhiambo, a lover to Mr Chiloba, reportedly confessed killing him amid infidelity claims.
The three are currently being held at Langas Police Station in Eldoret town.
They are accused of aiding the main suspect in carrying a metallic box which had the deceased’s lifeless body.
Nairobi News has established Mr Odhiambo and Mr Chiloba were in a relationship and they never shied away from speaking about the love they shared.
The deceased was last seen in the company of Mr Odhiambo and an unidentified man as they enjoyed drinks at a popular club in Eldoret town.
According to the police, Mr Odhiambo has been staying with the deceased for almost a year and a caretaker of the building they resided in said they lived as husband and wife.
The caretaker, Mr Alex Nyamweya, told the police that on January 4, 2023, Mr Odhiambo called him using the deceased phone number saying that he was planning to vacate.
Mr Odhiambo then went ahead and vacated from the building the same day.
Neighbors then questioned a bad smell that was emanating from the house they lived in and when asked, Mr Odhiambo said that there was a big rat that had died in the house.
