Three members of a family in Kayole who went missing 20 days ago are dead.
Joyce Syombua had traveled with her two children, daughter Shanice Maua and Prince Michael to Nanyuki to meet Army Major Peter Mugure, the father of her kids.

Bodies of Syombua and her two children who went missing on October 26 were found buried at Makaburini, Thingithu area, in Laikipia county.
The 31-year-old mother, who wasn’t in good terms with the Nanyuki-based military officer, left Nairobi on October 25 together with her kids to visit him.
This is after he invited her and their children at his Nanyuki Barracks residence.
In-text messages and call records police investigating the disappearances of the three, Syombua communicated regularly with her female friend, telling her Mugure had left with the kids but never returned with them.
When she asked where the kids were, he told her that he had left them at his friend’s place so that they (he and Syombua] could have a privacy and iron out their differences. Mugure had denied the kids were his until when a DNA test was conducted, confirming that he was their biological father. He was ordered by a Nairobi court to pay for child support.

Syombua’s friend called her at 7pm on October 26, but her phone was off.
Syombua’s family was worried and after a few days, they reported the matter to the police. Murugure was first questioned by the police over his missing family and he told the police that he escorted them to matatu terminus, where they bordered a Nairobi-bound matatu.
Peter was arrested on Friday in connection with the disappearances of his estranged wife and two kids and will be arraigned in court on Monday, November 18.
