Kitui Rural residents will likely know their legislators at the Ward level after the completion of the vote tallying exercise Wednesday evening.
The vote tallying process which commenced on Wednesday at 2:00 am was led by Kitui Rural Constituency Returning Officer Winfred Ndoti.
However, the election for Member of Parliament failed to take place on Tuesday after a mix up of ballot papers for the Parliamentary seat.
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission postponed the election to a later date.
IEBC is expected through a gazette notice to issue a date when the elections will take place.
Kitui Rural has four Wards, Kisasi, Mbitini, Kwa Vonza/Yatta and Kanyangi with a total of 157 polling stations.
Kitui had a total of 55,000 registered voters.
