Fever, a hit by well-known Dancehall artist Vybz Kartel aka World Boss that came out in 2016 was granted a certified Silver in the United Kingdom on February 10th. The hit song was awarded the Brit Certified Silver Award after selling over 200,000 units in the United Kingdom.
To earn the Silver certification in the UK, a single has to sell a minimum of 200,000 units. Gold 400,000 and platinum at 600,000 units.

About ‘Fever’ the song
Vybz Kartel dropped the song in 2016 whilst serving his life sentence at the Horizon Adult Remand Centre in Jamaica. The star was accused of murder back in 2014 and he can only be eligible for parole once he has served a minimum of 35 years of his sentence.
Due to the circumstances his eldest son, Adidja Jaheim Palmer, known as Likkle Vybz received the news on behalf of his father from DancehallMag. He received the news with great zest. He also added that the certification was another win for the whole family not only Vybz Kartel.
Fever is of his album ‘King of the Dancehall’ produced by Dunw3ll. The song has 27 million views on YouTube currently. It has been streamed 74, 621,905 on Spotify currently. Before it was certfied silver in the UK, it was certfied Gold in the US having had sales of 500,000 copies.
Although the dancehall star might have been forgotten by the reggae industry on his birthday, he proves still the very best of dancehall music globally.

Vybez Kartel’s family
Vybz Kartel’s first-born child Adidja Jahiem Palmer who is following on his father’s footsteps, was born on 18th April 2003, when Vybz Kartel was 27 years old. Along with two other children, he had with longtime girlfriend Tanesha ‘Shorty’ Johnson. Kartel also has six more children from other relationships.
On 17 May 2020, it was revealed that Kartel’s 15-year-old son was expecting a child with an 18-year-old woman, making Vybz a grandfather for the first time.
