Kiambu governor Kimani Wamatangi is yet in another trouble with MCAs who have now hatched a scheme to impeach the governor with word, trade and investments cabinet secretary Moses Kuria is sponsoring the MCAs according to those sympathetic to the governor.

he MCAs are now accusing the county chief of dictatorship, poor leadership, and inability to oversee the county development.
They say Wamatangi is a slave of a cartel at the county, and is a lone ranger being unable to work with other leaders, sidelining many in decision-making, and sabotaging infrastructural developments at the ward level.
Further, they accuse Wamatangi’s of failing to fully constitute his government for effective service delivery after winning elections but preferring to work with Kiambu county queens.
Led by Githiga ward MCA Ruth Waithera they accused Wamatangi for failing to submit the names of the chief officers for approval to the assembly, a move that has seen him collaborate with those from former governor James Nyoro’s administration to scuttle projects.
One of the key positions that has been vacant for months is that of county secretary, which has been vacant since Martin Njogu, the former CS, who resigned months ago.
Njogu resigned according to an MCA Weekly Citizen talked to, after Wamatangi threatened to shoot him. Njogu is said to have wept raising his hands up in the governor’s office as the county boss allegedly removed his pistol cocking it to open fire. He was later forced to resign or face the music.
Wamatangi has forced many resign due to what is said to be alone ranger is Biabiane Waiganjo, a county executive committee member for education resigned in April this year citing harsh, oppressive and suppressive working conditions as the reason for leaving the county executive after only two months.
Gibson Mburu the county’s chief of staff followed then county executive committee member in charge of roads Samuel Mugo and his chief officer for roads Daniel Njenga.
All of these have not been replaced since their resignation, which has irritated MCAs who accuse Wamatangi of running county affairs unilaterally.
Despite the gazettement of Juja, Kabete, Lari, Kahawa Sukari, Githunguri and Gatundu municipalities, the metropolises do not have boards to manage them. Already, there is concern that Sh1.8 billion from the World Bank under the Kenya Urban Support Programme hangs in balance.
Also hot is the issue of failing to formalise employment of casual workers.
According to Karuri MCA Peter Wainaina, the governor values staff of Wamatangi Foundation than MCAs. The suspicious payments of imprests by those alied to the governor is raising eyebrows.
Godfrey Mucheke, an ally of Wamatangi, was recently removed as majority leader as your favourite Weekly Citizen reported.
While at Gatundu during a chicks and fertiliser distribution function, Wamatangi stated that his political enemies are using MCAs to fight him.
