Water institute students football team beat staff team 6-1 clinching men? title

Kenya Water Institute, KEWI,  students football team pipped the institutes staff team  to lift the men’s title during the institute’s sports day held Friday at Ministry Of Works Sports Club, South C Nairobi.

The students side overpowered the staff team registering an impressive score of 6-1 to clinch the men’s title.

Tables however turned in the ladies final where the staff’s team escaped with a narrow  1-0 against the students to  emerge the champions.

The one day sports event that brought together students and staff drawn from the Kenya Water Institute and the Water Sector Trust fund  was aimed at promoting cohesion among students and staff.

The organisers also called for increased funding for the water sector.

Other disciplines featured included Athletics, Badminton and  Table tennis.
