President William Ruto has dared Azimio One Kenya coalition leader Raila Odinga to come clean over allegations that former Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) commissioners were at his house during the 2022 elections period.

This follows Raila’s claims during a public rally yesterday at Jacaranda, that ex-IEBC chairperson Wafula Chebukati and commissioners Abdi Guliye and Boya Molu had at one point visited him at his home while the electoral process was underway.

“Chebukati said that there were people who tried to bribe them to moderate the election results. But they should also come claen on what they were doing in my house and what they asked for. I have CCTV footages and if they continue playing with our minds, I will release it,” he said.

President Ruto questioned Raila over the claims, demanding an answer to why the chairman of an electoral body was in his house at his invitation.

“If it’s true that these officials were in your house, it becks the question of why were they in your house. You had a chance to say these claims at the Supreme Court, why make the claims now? Ruto poised.

President Ruto was speaking during the 16th annual General Meeting and Africa Prosecutors’ Association (APA) Conference in Mombasa.

He said that his government remains committed to promoting public confidence in constitutionalism and the rule of law by respecting and defending, and upholding the independence of national institutions.

“We are committed to promoting an ideal environment for the revival of prosecution zeal guided by national values and principal of governance.”
