Kakamega Homeboyz tactician Nicholas Muyoti says his team’s goal is to get maximum points from Gor Mahia when the two sides collide after the international break.
Homeboyz switched off Western Stima 2-0 at the Bukhungu Stadium last weekend and Muyoti is bullish that his boys can fire on all cylinders in their next assignment against the league leaders K’Ogalo.
“We are going to keep the clean sheet and score goals, my boys are giving me what I want, we are going to push Gor Mahia hard, we have to pocket the three points at any cost,” he said.
The Nicholas Muyoti coached side has won five times, drawn twice and lost two matches so far (W5, D2, and L2) after nine matches of their 2019/20 campaign in the Kenyan Premier League (KPL).
Homeboyz have won two times and drawn one match in their last three competitive fixtures against higher ranked sides than themselves, each of this featured over 1.5 match goals.
Gor Mahia has had a good run in this season’s campaign; the league leaders having managed six wins and lost just one match in a seven matches tally (W6, L1).
Stat attack: Six of Homeboyz last nine matches produced over 2.5 goals. They have however scored a goal in all nine matches but notably the side has only kept a clean sheet in three of the nine matches.
Meanwhile, the Bernard Mwalala coached side Bandari continued with their lackluster performance after they lost 0-1 against Ulinzi Stars.
The side lost 1-3 against Mathare and were hopeful of redeeming themselves against the soldiers who only inflicted more pain to them.
The Dockers have won three matches so far, drawn two and lost three (W3, D2, L3).
Bandari host wounded Ingwe at Mbaraki Sports club after the international break in a battle of titans each side will seek to redeem itself from the weekend tribulations.
Elsewhere, Kisumu All Stars produced the highlight of match day 9 of the weekend in Kisumu after the lakeside outfit ended their winless run in a 1-0 victory against visiting Kariobangi Sharks.
The side has won one match, drawn three and lost five matches tally (W1, D3, L5,).
The side is hoping to replicate the same against Wazito in their next assignment.
