WhatsApp will stop working on these Android devices in 2023

The new year is here with us, Happy New Year!

Now, with that out of the way, if you have a smartphone running on anything that is not Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) that previously had access to WhatsApp, then you should be worried and making plans for something else. This is because, at the strike of midnight, on New Year’s Day, WhatsApp will stop working on those devices.

You should be safe if you are on Android 5.0 (Lollipop) and later versions for at least a year. WhatsApp still lists Android 4.1 (also Jelly Bean) as the minimum requirement for devices but you should know better.

These are the devices whose support on WhatsApp is ending on December 31, 2022:
