Police in Nakuru are holding a 22-year-old woman for allegedly stabbing and injuring her husband following an ugly altercation over food in Keringet, Nakuru county.
The husband was rushed by neighbors to Keringet Sub-County Hospital from where he was referred to Olenguruone Hospital for further treatment while in critical condition.
The food altercation is suspected to have served only as a trigger to existing squabble.
The suspect was arrested yesterday evening.
According to preliminary police findings, the attacker is said to have stabbed her husband in a fit of rage after he allegedly slapped her.
The altercation reportedly began when the husband returned to their rented apartment and demanded food.
“She alleges that while in the process of cooking for him, they had a disagreement and the husband assaulting her by slapping. In turn, she took a kitchen knife and stabbed him on the left side of the chest.” The police said.
The NPS advised the public to report all domestic and Gender-Based Violence incidents to authorities for appropriate legal action.
