The World Bank has approved a credit facility of 75 billion shillings to Kenya, after setting out tough conditions to the treasury.
The bank has urged Kenya to rein in on pilferage and wastage of public resources in a bid to address economic and social challenges facing the country.
The funds will go towards providing subsidies for agricultural inputs, advancement of digitization through the creation of the national digital ID and pushing for access of internet services to all Kenyans.
The credit facility will further enhance service delivery by the government by reducing the need for face-to-face interactions and corruption opportunities.
