After Samsung and Motorola brands display their Foldable gadgets, it is now for the Chinese manufacturer to display what is happening in its pots. Accurate, Xiaomi has presented its Mix Fold 2 smartphone today
The foldable, 8.02-inch LTPO OLED display achieves a resolution of 2,160 x 1,914 pixels, a peak brightness of 1,300 nits, and a frame rate of 120 Hz. Xiaomi resorts to an Eco2 panel from Samsung, which dispenses with a dedicated polarizing filter, which makes the screen thinner.
The 6.56-inch secondary display on the outside is designed in 21:9 format and is, therefore, more comprehensive than the screen of the Galaxy Z Fold4. Also, the second screen relies on an LTPO AMOLED panel, which reaches a frame rate of 120 Hz, the peak brightness is 1,000 nits, and Gorilla Glass Victus is designed to prevent scratches.
Under the hood, we have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 works. On the back is a rectangular camera module with three lenses and Leica branding. The 50-megapixel f/1.8 primary camera uses a Sony IMX766 sensor in 1/1.56-inch format and a 7P lens with optical image stabilization (OIS).
There is also a 13 MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle camera and a telephoto camera with a small-screen equivalent focal length of 45 mm and an aperture of f/2.6. The primary camera can record 8K videos. The battery offers a capacity of 4,500 mAh, and is charged via USB-C with up to 67 watts. The Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 will come with MIUI 13, based on Android 12.
The Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 starts in China with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of flash memory for 8,999 yuan (about Ksh 159,212.60), the model with 512 GB of memory costs 9,999 yuan (about Ksh 176,491.49), the top model with 1 TB of flash memory is offered for 11,999 yuan (Ksh 212,283.47).
