Yesu Wa Tongaren had been detained for four days after he was arrested last week for allegedly giving controversial teachings.
Bungoma Court judge, Judge Tom Mark Orlando stated that the prosecution did not provide sufficient evidence before the court to charge the controversial preacher.
The police were further ordered by Justice Orlando not to interfere with the preacher’s activities.
The prosecution had requested to search Yesu Wa Tongaren’s house and church describing the two places as crime scenes.
The police also wanted the preacher to go through a mental assessment test.

Wajackoyah represents Yesu Wa Tongaren
Yesu Wa Tongaren was represented by Lawyers George Wajackoyah and Lawyer Simiyu Wanjala.
He welcomed the court’s ruling asking the government to stop interfereing with religious leaders and the freedom to worship.
He had been arrested for allegedly giving controversial teachings to women.
The commander claimed that some of the women in Yesu Wa Tongaren’s Church are even abandoning their husbands to go stay with him.
