Ten-man AFC Leopards edged out Tusker 2-1 in a Kenyan Premier League fixture played at the Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos on Saturday to ease relegation pressure on their shoulders.
The victory was Ingwe’s second on the trot after last weekend’s 1-0 win over Sony Sugar in Kakamega. Meanwhile, the loss condemned Tusker to their third straight loss in the league.
Leopards were reduced to ten men in the 36th after defender Kipyegon Nicholas was sent off for a second bookable offense.
Despite the numerical disadvantage, Leopards fought gallantly and broke the deadline in the Wayyeka Tatuwe in the 61st minute before Vincent Oburu doubled the lead in the 72nd minute.
Tusker, who were also reduced to ten men after Boniface Muchiri was sent off for a hard tackle in the 78th minute, pulled on back in 81st minute, but it was not enough to secure at least a point.
Tusker drop to sixth in the standings on 25 points while Leopards climb to 14th on 14 points.
