Busia Women representative Florence Mutua has announced plans to kick start distribution of food to the vulnerable group in her county as part of war against Coronavirus.
Mutua revealed that the elderly and Budalangi flood victims have been clustered as top priority in the intended food distribution exercise as the Kenya struggles with stringent measures in response to escalating cases of COVID 19.
The legislature hinted that she was in the process of purchasing masks, water tanks and soaps as part of preparations to manage the deadly Coronavirus.
In a spirited war against COVID 19, Mutua has identified a dispensary which is being set up as an isolation centre.
‘Busia so far has no COVID 19 and we hope that we don’t get any but we must be prepared’’ she noted adding that also is the offing is the distribution of hospital beds and equipment for isolation of the affected or those suspected for quarantine.
Mutua called on her voters and Kenyans in general to follow government directives and most importantly to stay where they are to avoid cross infection.
