There was drama at Ufanisi Saika Secondary school in Saika after five candidates realized that the school had not registered them for the KCSE exams.

The candidates marched at the school with their parents demanding an explanation as to why they had not been registered.

“I have attended this school from form one and also adhered with all the requirements needed in order to register as a candidate. I do not understand how were not registered,” cried a female student.

“We started having doubts when we were not given nominal rolls to sign. When we asked why? We were asked to be patient, that everything will be taken care of,” she said.

The student described the situation as one that has destroyed her life.

“My life has been destroyed because I cannot go back to school and start over again. I have wasted a whole five years,” she said.

One parent lamented that the school had demanded money from them up to the last minute.

“I paid Ksh. 5,000 registration money and it is unfortunate to note that the school had demanded money from us up to the last minute,” lamented the parent.

When contacted for comment, the school’s director James oliech stated that the students had not been attending school.

“How do you register students who are not in school?” he retorted.
