The ill-fated matatu that was involved in a road accident along the Bomet -Narok Highway.
Five people among them two children died after a vehicle they were traveling in was involved in a grisly road accident.
Thirteen others were injured in the early morning accident at Kipsoen along Bomet -Narok Highway.
One person died on the spot while four succumbed to injuries while receiving treatment at Longisa County Referral Hospital in Bomet East.
The 14-seater Nissan Matatu belonging to the Egesa Shuttles was traveling from Nairobi towards Kisii when it was involved in the accident.

“The matatu was overtaking and there was an oncoming vehicle so the driver veered off the road and the matatu rolled,” an eyewitness said.
Bomet Central Sub County Police Commander Musa Omari said the driver is among the injured but was in a stable condition.
He added, police are waiting for the driver to be discharged so that he can record a statement on what happened.
“We are waiting for the driver to recover so that he can record a statement with police and help with investigations,” said Omari

Omari hailed members of the public for responding and helping the victims at the scene.
