Lamu county governor ISSA Abdallah Timamy has today been coronated as Amani National Congress (ANC) leader following Musalia Mudavadi’s appointment as Prime Cabinet Secretary by President William Ruto.
Timamy has welcomed the move and promised for a party retreat to brainstorm on where they went astray that resulted in the poor outcome in the recent August polls and later resurface with a party position ahead of the 2027 general elections
“I want to thank the former party leader and the ANC community for bestowing the mandate on me. I assure you of service delivery following Musalia Mudavadi’s steps,” observed Timamy.
The party members led by ANC Secretary General, Simon Kamau have promised to support the incoming party leader promising to work with the government led by the President in delivering upon its manifesto and keeping the political parties agreement deal intact.
“We are a tough party with loyal members… we assure you (Timamy) as the new party leader of our full support. We also assure the President of our full support and thank him for keeping the political parties agreement deal,” he said.
The newly enacted party leader revealed that the party is in competition from within their Kenya Kwanza coalition allies and the opposition’s Azimio One Kenya coalition and is working tirelessly around the clock to actualize political success.
