MoH confirms 119 new Covid 19 cases

A total of 119 people have today tested positive for Covid 19 from a sample size of 1,691 tested in the last 24 hours.

Through a statement from the Ministry of Health, 68 of the confirmed cases are male while 51 are female with the youngest aged 1 years while the oldest, 86 years old.

Health Cabinet Secretary Susan Nakhumincha stated that the total confirmed cases now stand at 341,235 with cumulative tests so far conducted standing at 3,937,758.

From the confirmed cases, Nairobi has a total of 60. Nakuru (34), Kiambu (10), Meru (4), Homa Bay (3), Kisumu (2), Laikipia (2), Siaya (2), Kwale and Mombasa both with 1 case each.

“Distribution of positive cases by age is at 0-9 years (4), 10-19 years (5), 20-29, (28), 30-39 (33), 40-49 (15), 50-59 (9), 60 years and above (25),” the statement read.

Sixty patients have recovered from the disease all from the Home Based Care and Isolation program.

The recovered cases push the total recoveries to 334,753 of whom 281,081 are from the Home Based Care and Isolation program while 53,672 are from various health facilities across the country.

“Cumulative deaths by age remain 0-9 years (62), 10-19 (44), 20-29 (152), 30-39 (415), 40-49 (654), 50-59 (1,032), 60 years and above (3,325),” the statement added.

Additionally, cumulative fatalities remain at 5,684 as no deaths were recorded during the period.
