The divorce suit was first lodged by Gladys in 2016 where she accused Sam of abandoning the family, refusing to provide for it, denial of conjugal rights and being abusive.

The divorce suit was first lodged by Gladys in 2016 where she accused Sam of abandoning the family, refusing to provide for it, denial of conjugal rights and being abusive. However she decided to withdraw the case to run for Women Rep 2017 fearing it will cost her election. After the election Sam Shollei decided to file a divorce case that she failed to counter.

On the other hand Sam accused Gladys of infidelity, arguing she was having sex with male politicians and at times would fail to come home for a whole weekend.
There were claims Sam had become an alcoholic due to frustrations and this was one of the reasons he was booted out at the Standard Group. At one time, Gladys was with a Luo media personality red-handed in their bedroom after being tipped by the security at his Kitisuru residence in Nairobi.
Family members say Gladys was in the rural home on November 15 2013 at 11pm in the bedroom with an Eldoret-based Kisii lawyer. Sam who had driven all the way from Nairobi called his workers on the farm and broke the bedroom door.
The women rep was found half-naked in bed with the lawyer completely naked.
When the MP was sacked from the Judiciary as Registrar, her lifestyle had changed and resorted to heavy drinking. Infact insiders claim, one of the children was born out of wedlock and belongs to a well known judge. DNA results carried out reveal, the child is not Sam’s.
Sources say Gladys allegedly has a multiple lovers among them two politicians, an Eldoret based lawyer associated with a drinking joint, a presenter at Kass FM and a judge. A Luo man employed at a public relations firm is also on the list.
The divorce case filed by Sam is said to have caught Gladys offguard and that is why she never filed a defence despite being a lawyer by profession.
For now Sam has married another lady as they now start fighting over properties in Nairobi and upcountry.
But the two had managed to hide their marital issues from the media until when the divorce was finalised.
In the ruling made in Nairobi, the former chief registrar of the Judiciary was given full custody of the couple’s four children. She indicated in her suit papers that she does not need any maintenance from her previous husband.
